Ahsan Ramzan, an eighth-grade student of a school in Lahore reached the final of the 46th National Snooker Championship, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to details, Ahsan defeated Seed to Babar Masih in an interesting and thrilling semi-final match played at the National Bank Sports Complex Clifton in Karachi.
The schoolboy is just 16-years-old and a resident of Ichhra Lahore. He surprised everyone by beating Babar Masih in the best of thirteen frames by seven six frames.
Ahsan has also defeated two-time world champion Muhammad Asif in the quarterfinals. Now he would play the final with the national champion Mohammad Sajjad.
On Sunday, national champion Mohammad Sajjad faced stiff resistance for victory against Haris Tahir in his semi-final match. He won the match with six four frames.
This is the first time in the history of the National Snooker Championship that a schoolboy has qualified for the finals.
