World Mental Health Day: FJMU organizes students' poster competition

Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore observed World Mental Health Day and organized a poster competition among MBBS 4th year students on Monday.
The competition was held by the University’s Department of Community Medicine that was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor FJMU, Prof Dr Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz and Presidential Pride of Performance) and Chief Guest Chairman Higher Education Commission Prof Dr Shahid Munir.

Guest of Honour Prof Siara Afzal, Dean, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, KEMU, KEMCAA UK Representative Dr Ather Ahmed Saeed, Dr Hamid Attique, Pro VC Prof Shamsa Hamayun, Dean Basic Sciences Prof Munazza Iqbal, Director QEC Prof Bilquis Shabbir and Faculty of Community Medicine were also accompanied by them.
In the competition, initially, 17 posters were shortlisted by the Department's faculty. Later, worthy judges from FJMU, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and King Edward Medical University selected the top three posters as winners.
The students participated very enthusiastically and many of them surprised the participants with their digital art techniques, presentation skills and knowledge.

The top three posters were awarded first, second and third prize as follow; 
First position G-4
Mariam Imtiaz and Maheen Jawad Khan got the first position, Haziqa Salman and Sabahat Ali won the second position while Mariyam Yusra and Mahnoor Saeed grabbed the third position. 
World Mental Health Day is celebrated worldwide on 10th October every year as mental health in sustainable development goals illustrates the role and importance of a healthy mindset to become a healthy nation.
