Balochistan Bar Council has filed a petition against proposed constitutional amendment bill by the incumbent government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Bar Council contended that the government wanted to control judiciary therefore proposed amendments should be declared null and void as well as against Article 239 of the constitution.
The petitioner demanded of the apex court to bar federal government from passing such amendments and if parliament passed the bill, then court should suspend it.
Bar council claimed that an amendment related to the judiciary is against the fundamental rights, amendments are tantamount to taking away the independence of the judiciary therefore apex court should not allow it passage from the parliament.
Federal Government, Speaker National Assembly and Chairman Senate among others have been made party in the petition
