The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking the court order to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to unseal the KP House in Islamabad until the court gave its final verdict on the plea, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Making law secretary, secretary interior, DG Rangers, DG FIA, IGP Islamabad and CDA respondents, the KP government stated in the petition that the KP House, the provincial government’s property, was sealed illegally.
The petitioner prayed to the court to declare the impounding of vehicles parked at the House by the CDA ‘illegal’.
The petitioner further said that initially, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) was approached for the remedy. “But the court said that the relevant forum was the IHC.”
On Monday, the CDA had sealed the KP House over violations of building rules.
The move came two days after police raided the House to arrest KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who had led a caravan of PTI supporters from Peshawar to Islamabad to register their protest against the constitutional amendments and the imprisonment of the party founder Imran Khan.
According to CDA, the building was sealed because of illegal construction. It said notices were also served, but the KP House administration did not comply.
