The Sindh government, Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (Pasma) and farmers could not agree on setting the support price of sugarcane in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The meeting presided over by Minister for Agriculture and attended by representatives of Agriculture Department, Sugar Mills Association and cultivators ended without any result for the second time.
Sugar Mills Association and government of Sindh proposed to fix Rs443 per 40 kilogram while farmers' representatives demand to set rates above Rs450 per 40kg.
Representatives of sugar mills proposed that the rates should not be fixed until the next meeting.
Due to lack of agreement, the Sindh government could not fix the rate of sugarcane and the meeting ended without any result.
