PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique on Saturday called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his residence in Lahore to discuss the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation in Pakistan and to inquire after the health of PML-Q leader Ch Shujaat Hussain.

Khawaja brothers lauded the efforts of Pervaiz Elahi for building bridges to remove the gaps among all political parties in order to bring them together to combat the deadly coronavirus.

Parvez Elahi said COVID-19 could be defeated only with setting aside the political differences and acting as one nation. “It is the demand of humanity to act collectively against the coronavirus,” the PA speaker said.

Khawaja brothers also inquired after the health of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and offered good wishes for the PML-Q supremo.

Earlier, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had telephoned Khawaja brothers last week congratulating them after their release from year-long detention.

Salman Rafique and Saad Rafique both thanked the senior politician and also expressed the resolve to stand by the federal and provincial governments in their fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
