NAB is tightening the noose around former Punjab CM Ch Parvez Elahi in connection with the illegal approval of the master plan of Lahore that cost Rs300b to the public exchequer.

NAB has written a letter to the LDA DG for assistance in the probe, directing to appoint a grade 18 officer as a focal person to assist in the investigation into the Lahore Master Plan 2050 matter.

The focal person will contact the NAB Deputy Director of Investigation at Thokar Niaz Baig Complex before April 12, states the letter

A master plan has been prepared for Lahore, Kasor, Sheikhupura and Nankana.

Former chief ministers Usman Buzdar and Pervez Elahi are accused of conniving with real estate developers to damage green areas, according to sources.

Pervez Elahi is accused of costing Rs300b to the national exchequer by waiving the betterment fee from the existing schemes, the insiders added.
