Two dacoits shot dead in Rawalpindi police encounter

Two dacoits were shot dead in a police encounter while a policeman also sustained injuries in firing by the fleeing dacoits in the remit of Dhamyal police, Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the Rawalpindi police spokesperson, three dacoits were fleeing after snatching a car from a citizen, and they opened fire on a police team that went after them.
Head Constable Ghulam Mohiyuddin was seriously injured in firing by the dacoits while two of the dacoits were killed in retaliatory fire by the police.
The police recovered the snatched Mehran car, arms, wireless set, car theft tools, number plates and the car that were in use of the dacoits.
The deceased were identified as Naqibur Rehman alias Tofan and Tahsinullah. They were members of inter-provincial Najibullah dacoit gang.
Police said that the accused had been involved in robbing citizens of valuables impersonating law enforcement officials.
They added that the accused had been involved in several incidents of robbery, murder, theft, etc. They had also been involved in firing shots at Dolphin Force near airport and in areas of Dhamyal.
A citizen named Jamal had informed the police about the dacoits who had fled after snatching his car.
The bodies of the deceased had been shifted to hospital for post-mortem.
