Two terrorists including a key commander were gunned down during an intelligence-based operation conducted in Lower Dir District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to an ISPR statement, on the night of 10-11 April, 2025, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in general area Timergara of District Lower Dir, on reported presence of khwarij.
During the conduct of the operation, troops surrounded and effectively engaged the khwarij location, and after intense fire exchange, two khwarij including a high-value target, kharji Hafeezullah alias Kochwan, were sent to hell.
Khwarji Hafeezullah alias Kochwan was involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as the innocent civilians. He was highly wanted by the law-enforcement agencies and the government had fixed a head money of Rs10 million on him.
Sanitization operation was conducted to eliminate any other Khwarji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, said the ISPR statement.
President, PM, interior minister laud security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating two Khwarij in Lower Dir, including a most wanted terrorist ringleader.
The president and prime minister, in their separately issued statements, also appreciated the professional competence of the security forces for carrying out a successful intelligence-based operation to kill two terrorists, including a high-value target.
“Operations by the security forces will continue till the complete eradication of terrorism. The nation is also firmly resolved to completely eliminate the menace of Khawarij,” President Zardari stated.
He said that eliminating the terrorist ringleader during the operation was a major success for the security forces. “We will continue to thwart the evil designs of the enemies of humanity. Our war against terrorism will continue till the scourge is eliminated in toto,” Prime Minister Shehbaz said who is currently on a two-day official visit to Belarus.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid rich tribute to security forces personnel for sending to hell two terrorists including a key commander.
3 terrorists arrested in Charsadda
Police in Charsadda foiled a terrorist bid and arrested three militants along with heavy weapons on Friday.
The police also seized two rocket-launchers mortars and two cartridges from the arrested terrorists. They also recovered 18-foot prima card and 2kg ball bearings from their possession.
