Two people were dead while six received critical injuries when a car collided with a tractor-trolley on GT Road in Muridke on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rescue sources said that all the dead and injured persons belonged to the same family.
The deceased were later identified as Tasleem wife of Liaquat who was 70 years old and a child namely Ghayur Shah son of Iftikhar Shah who was four years old.
The injured persons included Iftikhar Shah, Maryam Bibi wife of Iftikhar Shah, Abdullah Shah son of Iftikhar Shah, Najma Bibi wife of Ali Murtaza, Ghulam Abbas son of Wazir Hussain and Ghayur son of Iftikhar Shah resident of Ladhiwala Vikran.
Soon after receiving the report of the accident, Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured persons to local hospital.
Further investigation was under way.
