The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday suspended 10 more officers for incompetence and corruption taking the tally to 36 since July, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pakistan’s apex tax collection department FBR said 10 suspended customs officers include seven inspectors, two superintendents and an appraising officer.

So far, 19 officers have been suspended and three employees have been fired on corruption and incompetence charges.

FBR spokesperson vowed the FBR is a transparent institution and all corrupt elements will be eliminated and action will be taken immediately on highlighting any corrupt practices.

The TV channel reported that FBR vowed to build a good impression among taxpayers and public and the FBR appealed to people to continue paying tax without having any ambiguity.

It is pertinent to note that FBR on Monday issued orders for transfers and postings of the 38 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (BS-18-19) with immediate effect and until further orders.
