PTI nominates Barrister Sultan for AJK president slot

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Wednesday nominated Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry for the president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), reported 24News HD TV channel.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur said that Barrister Sultan has been nominated as PTI candidate for the AJK president and Prime Minister Imran Khan has also approved Barrister Sultan’s name for the post.
Gandapur said the new president for AJK will be elected on August 17 while the oath-taking ceremony will be held on August 24.
Barrister Sultan has served as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir between July 1996 – July 2001. He is also the current president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Azad Kashmir chapter.
Barrister Sultan, the candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) had won the election to AJK Legislative Assembly from his parent Mirpur LA-3 constituency by defeating his nearest rival Ch Muhammad Saeed of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) by 3147 votes.
