Karachi City Club emerged victorious in the National Women's Football Club Championship, securing the title with a commanding 4-0 win over Legacy FC in the final match held at Islamabad's Jinnah Stadium on Saturday night.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the winning Karachi City Club team was awarded a cash prize of one million rupees.
Karachi City FC dominated the game from the start, applying relentless pressure on their opponents. Rameen Fareed opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by Sana’s goal in the 28th minute, giving Karachi a 2-0 lead by halftime.
In the second half, the team continued their dominance, with Zameena scoring in the 52nd minute and Zulfia sealing the victory with a goal in the 75th minute.
Players from Karachi City FC expressed their desire for more such leagues and opportunities to join the national team.
Chairman of the Pakistan Football Federation Haroon Malik highlighted that this championship is the beginning of efforts to bring new talent to the women's national football team.
He also mentioned plans to invite international women's teams to play in Pakistan.
The runners-up, Legacy FC, were awarded Rs500,000, while Karachi United, which secured third place, received Rs300,000.
The Fair Play Award of Rs200,000 was given to Hazara Quetta.
Nadia Khan from Karachi City was named the tournament's best player, and her teammate Nisha Ashraf was recognized as the best goalkeeper.
Eman Mustafa finished as the top scorer with 8 goals.
