Maulana Fazlur Rehman's daughter Saturday tied the knot with Afaq Jan Begukhel of Lakki Marwat.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the wedding ceremony was held in AbdulKhel village of Paharpur Tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan.
The invitees to the wedding ceremony were limited and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman was happy with his daughter's marriage.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also head of the main opposition parties alliance—Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) but did not call its leadership.
However, prominent politician Akram Khan Durrani attended the wedding ceremony and gave blessings to the groom and the bride.
During the ceremony, Maulana Fazlur Rehman remained busy in conversation with Akram Durrani all the time.
The family of the groom Afaq Jan has some relationship with the family of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and is economically strong as has some flour mills and other businesses.
Security arrangements have also been tightened on this occasion.
