Extreme cold persists in country as Islamabad freezes at 0 degrees Celsius

The country is in the grip of severe cold these days as night-time temperatures in most of the cities in upper and northern parts of the country are either zero or below zero, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The minimum temperature in Islamabad on Wednesday morning dropped to 0 degrees Celsius.
It was -10 degrees Celsius in Leh area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and -7 degrees Celsius in Gupis in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
The minimum temperature in Skardu, Astore, Kalam and Ziarat was recorded at -6 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, it was -5 in Chitral and Quetta and -4 in Gilgit, Hunza, Dir and Malam Jabba.
Weather turns chillier in Lahore
As with other upper parts of the country, temperatures have also dropped considerably in Lahore, especially at nighttime.
The Met Office said that the maximum temperature in the city on Wednesday would be recorded at 20 degrees Celsius, while it would remain 7 degrees Celsius on the minimum side.
Weather department forecasts rain, snow
The Met Office, on the other hand, predicted rain and snow for Murree and Galiyat, different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and cold and dry weather for Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
