Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi on Wednesday asked those having reservations over the Madrassah Registration Bill 2024 to tolerate dissent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said he was ready to name those religious seminaries, which had got themselves registered. “Madrassahs serve Islam. Nobody on earth could either shut them or change their curriculum.”
Seminaries, he went on to say, were the guardians of the Two Nation theory, which was the basis of Pakistan. “But at the same time, I must say that nobody should be allowed to play with the future of millions of students studying at these institutions,” he said categorically.
