Pakistan is hooked to Indian films, Google's most-searched list is proof

Heeramandi, 12th Fail, and Animal are among the top searches, showcasing the popularity of Indian content.

As 2024 comes to a close, Google looks back at the top trending searches. Not just in India, but Heeramandi topped the Google search in Pakistan as well. Among the most-searched movies and dramas of 2024 in Pakistan, 8 are from India.

Pakistan's deep connection with Indian cinema has always been evident, but the latest data from Google’s 2024 trending searches takes it a step further. The list reveals an intriguing trend -- Indian films and shows have captured the imagination of Pakistani audiences, dominating the search rankings for the year.

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi was the most-searched in the country, Vikrant Massey's film 12th Fail grabbed second spot, followed by Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Mirzapur Season 3 in third and fourth spot, respectively. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy, Stree 2, was also among the Top 5.

The list includes two Pakistani shows - Ishq Murshid on the 6th number and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum on the 10th number.
