Sindh now has 12,444 non-functional schools across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a report released on Thursday, some 456,114,0 children are studying in schools in Sindh while there are 133,000 teachers in the schools. Out of 49,000 schools in Sindh, 26,260 do not have drinking water and 19,469 schools in the province do not even have toilets.
As per the report, out of 49,000 schools in the province more than 31,000 schools have no electricity and over 21,009 schools do not have even boundary walls.
The shocking revelations in the report reflected the plight of education standards in public sector schools when there are no labs in more than 47,000 schools across Sindh and over 36,000 schools have no playground facilities.
The report data also revealed that more than 47,000 schools in the province have no concept of a library.
