Counter Terrorism Department, acting on a tip-off, has arrested an accused allegedly involved in target killing of a traffic warden from Sadar Parking Plaza area of Karachi, after eight years of the incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The accused, Ijaz Kala, had shot dead on duty traffic warden Muhammad Mansha, eight years ago in 2014. Muhammad Mansha was on duty at traffic signal Chorangi No 1, Nazimabad when he was targeted by the assailant. Two bike riders appeared from Post Office Liaquatabad and shot Mansha injured. The traffic warden later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A rickshaw driver had also sustained bullet injuries during the incident.
The investigation wing of the CTD, on a secret information, acted and apprehended the accused.
Accused Ijaz, with help of his co-accused had committed the crime. Police have recovered 30 pistols from his possession. The accused is wanted by police in different cases under murder, attempt to murder, terrorism and other charges.
A case has been registered against accused by the CTD.
