A Pakistani in the United States has donated $30 million to the Turkish embassy for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, media reports said.
The devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc in Turkey and Syria earlier in the ongoing week, claiming thousands of lives and leaving a trail of destruction.
Turkish media broke the story of donations by the Pakistani's donation for the calamity-hit people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took to Twitter and heaped praise on the expats’ act of kindness.
The premier tweets: “Deeply moved by the example of an anonymous Pakistani who walked into Turkish embassy in the US & donated $30 million for earthquake victims in Türkiye and Syria.
“These are such glorious acts of philanthropy that enable humanity to triumph over the seemingly insurmountable odds.”
