The federal government on Friday announced “double relief” for pensioners of the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) before Eid-ul-Azha.

At Friday’s meeting, the federal cabinet approved an increase in the pension of EOBI pensioners and said they would get their pensions before Eid.

From August 1, EOBI pensioners would get 10 percent discount on EOBI Sahulat Card at Utility Stores. They will get a 10 percent discount on purchase of daily use items like flour, sugar, rice, cooking oil and pulses. More than 7.5 million EOBI pensioners will benefit from this facility, according to the official data.
