Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) head Senator Sirajul Haq has opposed idea of launching movement against the government in the present situation when, according to him, the ruling party wanted a ‘self-escape’ to present itself innocent to the public in the next election.

"I'm not in favour of providing an opportunity to the rulers to declare themselves martyrs," he said in a statement issued from Mansoora on Saturday.

Sirajul Haq said the bad governance was visible in every sector. Economy has collapsed and common persons were not provided with relief in the PTI rule thatcame into power /with fake mandate’.

The JI senator the PTI was incapable and nobody knew how long it will take further to the ruling party to get over the crises looming large.

Mentioning prime minister's statement that 18th amendment was hurdle in the performance of the government, the JI chief said, it was not the constitutional amendment but the rulers who were incapable to improve the performance of institutions.

He said the government failed to take even a single step to turn the country into a Madina-like-state.

The interest based economy and the debt reached a level that even the PTI supporters were desperate and felt sorry for choosing the present rulers as their leaders, he said, adding that the accountability process has become a joke while the government has been attempting to muzzle the media and the judiciary.

He criticised the opposition parties for keeping quiet over public issue, saying they all enjoyed power during their turns in the past but did not deliver. He regretted the government completely ignored the KP as no mega projects was announced for it in the federal budget.
