Ex-DG Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Manzoor Qadir has filed a bail petition against a NAB reference in Islamabad High Court on Monday, the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Manzoor Qadir filed the petition through senior counsel Farooq H Naik.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against Manzoor Qadir and others in fake accounts scam that involves illegal allotment of land.
According to the reference, Manzoor Qadir and the other accused are alleged to misuse authority and cheated the public at large in the allotment of the GC-1 plot on Nehar-e-Khayyam.
The accused persons allegedly received amounting to Rs 1000 million from the buyers in lieu of illegal allotment.
The bail application has been scheduled for hearing tomorrow (Tuesday) in the Islamabad High Court.
A two-member bench consisting of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan will hold the hearing.
Presently, Manzoor Qadir is in Canada and ready to join the investigation.
Farooq H Naik contended that a 15-day protective bail should be granted to Manzoor Qadir without arrest upon his repatriation.
