The Supreme Court’s Registrar Office has returned a petition seeking a ban on PTI, after raising objections to it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party leader Awn Chaudhry had filed the petition in the Supreme Court the other day seeking ban on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
The Registrar Office on Monday ruled that Awn Chaudhry’s plea was not in accordance with the Article 184. The petition does also not explain how seeking a ban on PTI faill under Article 184-3, the Registrar Office said, adding it is also not clear how banning PTI will be in the interest of the general public.
Another objection raised was that the petitioner did not first move the relevant forum. The prime minister and the defence minister cannot be made respondents under Article 248, the SC Registrar Office added.
