Former pacer and Pakistan cricket team selector, Wahab Riaz, has dismissed claims that he pressurised the selection committee, following the PCB's confirmation of his removal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a post on his X account, Wahab denied accusations, stating, "I don’t agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee."

Wahab questioned the feasibility of one vote dominating the decisions of a seven-member committee. He added that all proceedings were documented and recorded in the meeting minutes, assuring transparency in the selection process.

Wahab also announced that he would issue a detailed statement later in the evening.

Meanwhile, the board has retained Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, and Bilal Afzal in the selection panel.

As per sources, a senior official had advised Wahab to take responsibility for the player selections and resign voluntarily.

However, Wahab’s refusal to resign resulted in his removal.
