A spokesperson for the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Wednesday rejected the media reports about emergency landing of a PIA plane, which was flying from the Saudi city of Riyadh to the Pakistani city of Multan.
The spokesperson said the PIA flight PK-8726 was coming from Riyadh to Multan via Karachi and the plane was scheduled to go to the engineering base. He said another plane was ready to fly from Karachi to Multan. Before the flight, the spokesperson said, a part of the plane developed a technical fault and this fault delayed the flight from Karachi to Multan. The faulty part of the plane is being replaced and an alternative flight left Karachi for Multan at 10:40pm. The spokesperson said the airline apologises to its customers for the inconvenience.
