Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered steps for bringing stability in the prices of roti.
The Punjab Chief Minister taking notice of the rise in the prices of roti and naan said that he will not allow raising prices of roti and ordered the cabinet committee to take action against those who have increased the prices of roti.
The CM said that the administration must ensure the sale of roti on the fixed rates. He said that those who will raise the prices of roti will face action.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday Muttahida Nan and Roti Association had set the prices of naan weighing 100 grams at Rs8 and Rs15 for naan weighing 120 grams.
Association President Aftab Gul said negotiations with district administration are ongoing. Rates of flour and fine flour bags have increased by Rs800 and Rs1,200 respectively, he said.
Association Vice President Mir Daad Khan said tandoor owners will only sell cheap roti and naan when they are provided with flour at a lower rate as they cannot bear further losses.
