Cabinet nods to 10 raise in salaries, pensions

The federal cabinet has agreed to give a 10% increase in government employees’ salaries and pensions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The federal cabinet on Friday deliberated on the matter of 10% raise in the salaries of government employees and pensions. Sources said that the members of the cabinet had agreed to the suggestion.
After the final approval of the federal cabinet, the decision regarding 10% hike in emoluments and pensions would be announced in the budget speech later in the evening today.

IMF, govt team to hold talks
The government economic team will make another round of talks with the International Monetary Fund ahead of the budget presentation to bring it around on thorny issues related to tax relief and increase in salaries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told News24HD on Friday that government economic gurus are trying hard to woo the global lender agency on the matters of tax relief and raise in emoluments of government employees before the presentation of budget later in the evening. There will be another round of talks between the government economic team and IMF on this affair.
The economic team will also try to bring around the IMF on the matter of providing tax relief to other important industries.
