In a surprise move after the tough budget announced by the federal government, the Utility Stores Corporation has announced a massive cut in the price of ghee with immediate effect, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the notification issued on Saturday, the ghee price at Utility Stores has been reduced Rs55 per kilogram, meaning the ghee will now be available for Rs300 per kg.
It is interesting to note that the ghee price was raised from Rs260 to Rs355 per kg on June 1 last but now this has been decreased by Rs55 to Rs300 per kg.
Former prime minister Imran Khan had announced a relief package under which the ghee price was fixed at Rs260 per kg with subsidy.
