The federal government has removed BS-21 officer Dr Tauqeer Ahmed Shah from the post of federal health secretary on Wednesday after Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) founder Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri criticized his appointment.

Additional Secretary Tanveer Ahmed Qureshi has been appointed as new additional health secretary now.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri last week lambasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government on appointing Dr Syed Tauqir Hussain Shan (BS-21) as in-charge additional federal health secretary, who was mentioned in Baqir Najafi’s report prepared on Model Town tragedy.

Dr Qadri posted on his official twitter account, “The masterminds and perpetrators of #ModelTownMassacre were afraid of being caught during the past government but now they do not feel any fear during Imran Khan's government”.

He said he was short of words to express deepest congratulations to Prime Minister Khan on the appointment.

He tweeted, “I am short of words to express deepest congratulations to Prime Minister Imran Khan on appointing the criminals and main characters involved in #ModelTownCase on even higher ranks during his own governance”.

It is pertinent to mention that the federal government on Wednesday appointed Dr Syed Tauqir Hussain Shan (BS-21) as in-charge additional secretary removing Health Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik (BS-22).
