Following talks in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to deploy 500 more cops on beaches where dangerous channel crossings start, The Sun reports.

British PM Rishi Sunak will send France £478 million to tackle human traffickers and stop small boats crossing the channel, the report said, adding that the president announced the opening of a new detention centre to help the French Border Force cope with the masses of migrants being trafficked by evil people smugglers.

In return for the half a billion pounds, France will also form a new, highly-trained and permanent mobile policing unit dedicated to illegal migration.

High-end drones, helicopters, planes and fresh surveillance tech will be used to ramp up intelligence sharing between British and French forces.

And all French efforts to tackle small boats will be overseen by a 24/7 zonal coordination centre, where permanent UK liaison officers will be based.

According to a BBC report, Sunak said a couple of days ago that he ‘is up for the fight on migrant boats’.

Under the Illegal Migration Bill, the home secretary has a duty to detain and remove those arriving in the UK illegally, either to Rwanda or another "safe" third country, while migrants would not be granted bail or able to seek judicial review for the first 28 days of detention

Moreover, people removed from the UK would be blocked from returning, or seeking British citizenship in future while there is a cap on the number of refugees the UK will settle through safe and legal routes and the law would apply retrospectively, with anyone arriving illegally from Tuesday 7 March at risk of deportation.
