Markets reopened in different areas of Karachi on Monday, as the Sindh government allowed the traders to start business activities, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The Saddar and Lighthouse areas, located in the main business district of Karachi, are one them where the traders came out early in the morning on the first day of reopening the business activities after the imposition of lockdown.
All City Tajir Ittehad chairman Hakim Shah said traders had opened the shops in Lighthouse, adding that the decision about lockdown was accepted in national interest.
Thanking the Sindh government for granting the permission, he said SOPs would be followed in the market and requested the shoppers to cooperate with them on the subject.
He said no shopper would be allowed to enter the shop without wearing mask, as the traders would ensure social distancing.
On the other hand, no one is caring about social distancing and the SOPs agreed upon for the business activities in Islamabad, as smaller markets reopened in the federal capital.
The SOPs were openly being violated as the administration and police had failed miserably in ensuring their implementation.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, SOPs are being disregarded especially in the posh localities as well as the suburban areas.
As the people and traders are ignoring the social distancing, the use of face mask and sanitizers is also ignored in the markets.
