The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday issued new SOPs (standard operating procedures) regarding Eid prayers, sermon and anti-corona measures.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, keeping in view the coronavirus situation, the NCOC urged the ulema to keep their Eidul Fitr Khutba (Eid prayer sermon) very short and try to offer the Eid prayers in groups at a mosque or Eidgah to avoid rush.

New SOPs are set for the Eid Day especially and NCOC requested ulema to try their best for offering prayers at open areas like grounds or parks and if they are indoors then make sure that all windows and doors remain open for ventilation.

The NCOC urged the people that they should bring along their own prayer-mats from homes and avoid handshakes, hugs and kisses after offering Eid prayers as per past traditions.

It further suggested the people to maintain distance of six feet among them during Eid prayers and do not bring children under the age of 15 years and the elder citizens as they were more vulnerable in the current situation of Covid-19 third wave.

Urging upon using of masks, sanitizers, and thermal scanners in mosques on the Eid Day, the NCOC said a banner related to corona SOPs for guiding the people must be placed outside the mosques and Eidgahs.

The new SOPs were framed in the NCOC meeting chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umer while Special Assistant to PM for Health Dr Faisal Sultan also participated in it though a video link.
