A video showing a lady doctor demanding money from an Afghan patient at Pakistan-Afghan Dausti Hospital at Torkham has gone viral, leading to the suspicion that other patients from the neighbouring country may also have been asked to pay in lieu of medical treatment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Dr Kashmala Orakzai, a woman medical officer at the hospital, can be seen in the video asking for money from the patient.
DG Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Dr Niaz told the media that the lady doctor was an employee of the Federal Ministry of Health.
He at the same time, however, clarified that the KP health department had nothing to do with all this.
He further said that the video had been forwarded to the Ministry of Health in Islamabad.

Sources in the KP health department have told 24News TV channel that prior to that the lady doctor had been fired from a job at Peshawar airport where she would screen the patients.
