Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKFP) Vice President Zikrullah Mujahid said they have delivered food packages, Sehr, Iftar and Sadaqah Fitr to 1.7 million deserving families with the help of Rs1.16 billion rupees during the holy month.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the community services program board of the foundation held a half-yearly meeting at the Alkhidmat Complex in Lahore which was presided over by Vice President Zikrullah Mujahid and attended by National Director Amir Mehmood Cheema, Regional Presidents, and Regional Directors.
During the meeting, Zikrullah Mujahid gave details of the ongoing social services provided during Ramadan this year. He reported that food packages were distributed to 9,61,000 deserving families, community Iftar was organized for 2,60,000 people, and 7,83,00,000 were distributed among 4,70,000 deserving people in the form of Fitrana.
Zikrullah Mujahid highlighted the increasing difficulties faced by the white-collared class in Pakistan due to the corona epidemic, floods, and worsening economic situation. He also cited the Global Report of Food Crisis 2022 released by the World Food Organization, which revealed that Pakistan has become one of the ten countries suffering from malnutrition in the world.
Alkhidmat Foundation has a long-standing tradition of organizing food packages Suhur and Iftar for the white-collared and deserving people during Ramadan.
The organization has an integrated system for the procurement, packaging, and distribution of food packages.
Alkhidmat officials and volunteers, including students of colleges and universities, are involved in this system, coupons are distributed to the deserving and needy people after Alkhidmat conducts a survey to avoid any unpleasant incidents in the distribution of food packages.
