Pakistan People’s Party Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for disbanding the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying PPP is against the NAB from day one, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a news conference in Karachi on Thursday, Bilawal Bhutto said “PPP thinks the NAB should be abolished. Disbanding the NAB was part of the Charter of Democracy.”

The PPP chairman also declared that his party does not celebrate any politician’s arrest as such an exercise only hurts politics.

Bilawal branded PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan “a political terrorist” for not appearing in court.

However, he said that he is not in favour of banning any political party.

“Principally, I am not in favor of declaring any political party illegal,” he told the presser.

The foreign minister said that such decisions are taken after looking into the situation. If any such decision is made, it will be made out of compulsion. “

Bilawal maintained if any other organization would have committed terrorism committed yesterday, it would have to face the consequences.

He further said that the PTI would have called for a peaceful protest if it wanted to remain a political party.

The PPP chairman and foreign minister advised the PTI to “not make matters worse” and to call for an end to violent protests.

He said their reaction was unjustified. “What has been done, is done. But I can advise you don’t make matters worse and give a call to end violent protests and declare that you will abide by the rule of law and the Constitution….Don’t make things more difficult for you,” he added.

“If politicians are arrested, politics suffers. We never celebrate it or share sweets on it. The PPP is against NAB from the beginning but the PTI defended NAB. The Charter of Democracy included the closure of NAB from 2008 to 2013. But Imran Khan termed it a Mukmuka (give and take) and started a campaign to save NAB,” Bilawal blasted.

He recalled on the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto his party had raised the slogan of “Pakistan Khappay” while the PTI had attacked state institutions while reacting to Imran Khan’s arrest.
