The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday heard the petitions to remove Imran Khan as the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and sent the file to the chief justice with the recommendation to refer the petitions to a larger bench, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
LHC judge Justice Abid Hussain Chattha passed the order on two different petitions of the same nature by Afaq Ahmed and Muhammad Junaid.
IHC defers defamation case hearing against Kh Asif
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) extended the order to stop the hearing of a defamation case against Defence Minister Khawaja Asif till June 6 next.
The defamation case had been filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan against Khawaja Asif over allegations about Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq issued the orders while accepting the request of Khawaja Asif’s lawyer for further time to present his arguments.
IHC adjourns contempt plea hearing against Imran
The IHC conducted a hearing on the contempt plea against Imran Khan in the Judicial Complex attack case.
The court accepted the assistant commissioner’s request to submit additional documents. The assistant commissioner’s junior counsel appeared before the court and demanded next hearing in June.
The court, however, adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period of time.
