Good news for the Pakistanis living in the UK and elsewhere in Europe as the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will restart operating its flights to Paris next month and to the UK on August 14 after a gap of four years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to the PIA’s spokesman Abdullah Hafeez, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will give its permission to the airline during the ongoing month in phases.
The spokesman has said that as soon as the national flag carrier receives approval from the Agency, it will first resume its flight operation in Paris.
“The PIA’s direct flight to London will take off on August 14,” he has said, adding, “In view of the resumption of flight operation, the airline has also accelerated work on the repair of its 777 planes.”
He has informed that presently the PIA’s seven 777 planes are operational. “And two more triple seven planes will become operational in the next two months,” the spokesman has explained.
On the other hand, PIA GM has said that with nine 777 planes functional, the airline will be able to manage its flight operation to Europe in a far better way.
Hafeez has said that currently Pakistan is a signatory to an agreement on air service with 97 countries.
It is worth-mentioning here that direct flights from Pakistan to the UK had come to a halt in 2020.
