Ogra bans manufacturing of substandard LPG cylinders

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has put a ban on the manufacturing of substandard liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders and criminalized its sale, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Those who would involve in the manufacturing and sale of substandard LPG cylinders now made with non-bailable offense and violators would get a one million rupees fine.
LPG Association Chairman Affan Khokhar expressed their resolve to cooperate with the OGRA as the government has directed the district administration to launch a crackdown against violators.
He said no room left for violators now and his association would extend all-out help Explosive Department.
Transporters assisting shifting of LPG cylinders would be dealt with as per the new notification issued by the OGRA.

Reports said that accidents caused by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder explosions are on the rise in the province because of the failure of the authorities concerned to curb hazardous use of the fuel.
