The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) Friday suspended the order of removal of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The FST ordered the Establishment Division to decide the appeal against the transfer of Ghulam Mehmood Dogar within 30 days.

The FST further observed that Dogar cannot be suspended till his appeals against transfer are decided.

It is pertinent that the federal government had ordered CCPO Lahore to report to the establishment division within three days on October 28 after issuing his suspension order. However, Punjab refused to transfer his services to the federal government and instructed CCPO Lahore to continue working.

On November 5 the federal government suspended the officer once again this time over his alleged “failure” to protect the Governor House where a protest was held. The establishment division issued a notification to suspend police officer.

CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar appealed in FST against suspension contending that the federal government has interfered with provincial autonomy by issuing the suspension order. Dogar said he was suspended from the post on November 5 for not responding to the notification.

He pleaded that the notification for suspension and transfer of federal government should be declared illegal and canceled. He urged the tribunal to issue a stay order till a final decision is made.
