First round of talks between US, Taliban ends in Doha

The first round of direct talks between the US and the Taliban after the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan ended in Doha, reported 24News HD TV channel on Sunday.  

The Taliban leaders said the talks were positive. They said such talks would help the new Afghan government to get international recognition. They called on the United States to restore frozen assets in Afghanistan. 

The US officials discussed the issue such as stoppage of terrorists, evacuation of civilians from Afghanistan, and humanitarian aid.
