445 dengue cases reported from KP in 24 hours

The number of dengue patients continued to rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as 445 more patients were diagnosed with dengue fever during the past 24 hours (Monday) making the situation worrisome, meanwhile the total number of cases from the mosquito-borne infection surpassed to 12,068 in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

According to the health department, the dengue fever claimed 10 lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Official figures show that Peshawar is the hard hit city in the KP with the highest number of 191 infected people, followed by 107 dengue cases in Swabi. 

On the other side, the number of recovered patients from the deadly virus is 9,585 so far. 

Similarly, the capital city Islamabad reported 73 dengue cases in one day, and suburban areas of the city are severely affected as the total number of cases have crossed over 3,242 mark in the national capital. The viral disease have claimed 7 lives hitherto. 

Out of 73 cases, 42 dengue cases were recorded from rural regions and 28, respectively, from urban populations. The PIMS hospital admitted 23 infected patients whereas 38 people were brought to in private laboratories.
