Taking people’s friendly step, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday rejected the summary for Rs15 increase in the fare of metro and speedo buses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this connection, a summary was presented at a meeting of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.
But the chief minister said there was a need to find innovative ways to generate revenue.
The meeting also approved the start of electric bus service from Lahore Railway Station to Green Town.
The meeting was told that under the pilot project, funded by the World Bank, 27 electric buses would ply on the route.
300-ton heavy garder placed at Akbar Chowk flyover
In their quest to meet the deadlines set by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi for the completion of different development projects, the contractors have so far placed 24 garders, out of total 66, at the Akbar Chowk flyover.
A record was set by placing Punjab’s heaviest garder, weighing 300 tonnes, at the flyover.
Under the project, construction of the flyover connecting Peco Road to canal will be completed soon.
Special cranes were purchased from Japan to lift garders for their placement.
Furthermore, out of 10 U-turns, part of the project, eight have been completed.
Signboards have been installed while marking of lanes has also begun.
The CM had ordered the completion of the project towards the end of this month.
CM Naqvi visits Chughtai Lab
As part of the mission to improve the quality of medical labs in the province, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by his health team, visited Chughtai Lab early Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Umar Chughtai received the CM and members of his team on arrival.
The chief minister went round different sections of the lab and viewed the facilities being provided there.
