Principal Government Graduate College of Science Wahdat Road Dr. Tehsin Razaq has been suspended on the charge of cutting down trees and making a fence in the college, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
In this regard Dr. Tehsin Razaq said that the inquiry report did not specify the types of trees to be felled.
He clarified that the fence of the new BS block of the college was a fence of Conocarpus tree and due to the one and a half year construction of the new Benahas block, the adjacent fence was not disturbed.
Dr. Tehsin said that conocarpus tree consumes oxygen and conocarpus fences were shortened after the construction of the building by the college management.
He said a professor complained about being questioned for not attending classes.
Dr. Tehsin said he tried everything possible for the development of the college for 14 years and new parking lot, new blocks and artificial forest also built in the college.
