A massive fire swept through a locality in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir destroying houses in the wee hours of Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A short-circuit in a house was said to be the reason behind the destructive blaze in Jagran Shawl area of Neelum Valley which completely destroyed 10 houses and one shop and partially damaged another 12 houses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to District Disaster Management authorities, the blaze which erupted at 3:00 am engulfed the whole locality.
The authorities said that due to the fire all the households were reduced to ashes.
Local residents tried to control the blaze on their own but it spread rapidly as all the houses were constructed with wood.
Due to non-availability of road, fire-bridge team failed to reach the affected area, while rescue and other district management teams reached the area and brought the fire under control after four hours.
Chairman District Disaster Management Authority directed to provide all necessary items to the affected homes.
