State institutions not involved in forced disappearances: Farogh

September 11, 2020 12:20 AM

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem said on Thursday the government was taking steps in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case in line with the verdict of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

During an informal talk with representatives of the Supreme Court Press Association at the Ministry of Law and Justice on Thursday, Farogh said that India has not contacted Pakistan in Kulbhushan Jadhav case so far. He said that corruption has destroyed Pakistan. He said the political elite plundered Pakistan’s resources in tenures of past governments. He said that forced disappearances was a critical issue, but he was dead sure that state institutions were not involved in these disappearances. He said that he would talk to opposition parties on a daily basis for legislation on FATF-related issues. He said that legislation in this regard would be done according to the law.

Farogh said that he wanted to become the law minister just once. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan gave him law minister’s polio for the second time by force after his party, Muttahida Qaumi-Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), resigned from ministries.

Answering a question, Farogh said that MQM Pakistan keeps in mind only Pakistan’s interest. He said that MQM-P was the real party and MQM-London had no worth.
