ATC gives 8-day physical remand of Marwat, other PTI MNAs

 Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad Judge has given 8-day physical remand of PTI leaders Sher Afzal Marwat, Amir Dogar, Zain Qureshi, Nasim Shah, Ahmed Chattah and others for violation of NOC, anti state speeches and other allegations during Sangjani rally on September 8, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


During the hearing, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain questioned from the prosecution team to describe allegations against the accused.


Prosecutor Raja Naveed told the court that PTI failed to concluded its rally in a given time on September 8. He said police warned PTI leadership about the violation of NOC but PTI refused to conclude rally at the given time. Prosecutor Raja Naveed also claimed that according to FIR, from the stage, PTI leaders delivered anti state speeches.


He claimed that SHOs of Thana Sangjani and Ramna were held hostages by the PTI workers.


Prosecutor claimed that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur threatened DSP that he will shoot him. While another PTI leader Khalid Khurshid who was armed attacked the police party. The prosecutor said Shoaib Shaheen also attacked police and snatched the pistol from a cop.


On this PTI MNA asked the prosecutor to produce the witness he will admit all crimes. Sher Afzal Marwat demanded witness.


PTI leader said that the complete recording of the rally was available. If the prosecutor is true he should swear on Holy Quran and pledged that all these allegations are true.


Sher Afzal Marwat claimed that Establishment was using Islamabad Police for vested interests. He said “I have been a judge for 16 years and a lawyer for 32 years, I will keep a pistol on the police”.


Sher Afzal Marwat told the court that all media was available during the rally. Each and everything was being reported but the tale and allegations police were leveling could not be produced.


PTI leaders counsel Adil Aziz Qazi told the court that all accused are public leaders who have got public mandate.


Police has no proof of their allegation. He demand of the court to discharge Sher Afzal Marwat, Sheikh Waqas, Zain Qureshi, Aamir Dogar, Naseem Shah and others.


After hearing the arguments of prosecutor Naveed Raja and Shoaib Shaheen counsel, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain judicialized Shoaib Shaheen in the case of Thana Noon. PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen and others have been arrested by police for pelting stone at police during PTI rally on September 8. The anti-terrorism charges were also included against PTI leaders in the FIR.


On judge’s question, Prosecutor Raja Naveed told the court that according to FIR, PTI workers attacked police on the directives of PTI leadership. He added that due to anti terrorism sections, police can obtain 90 days remand of the accused.


According to FIR, PTI activists snatched anti-raid guns from policemen. The prosecutor said explosive materials were also found near the location of the rally. Despite this, workers were incited and police were attacked, prosecutors said. Prosecution demanded of the court that 15-day physical remand of Shoaib Shaheen should be given to police as police have to recover things from them, hence they physical remand of the accused, prosecutor explained.


PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen counsel Riaysat Ali Azad told the court that Shoaib Shaheen has been the president of the Islamabad High Court Bar, he is an advocate of the Supreme Court, and is a prominent member of a major political party. Ali Azad said it is being said that Shoaib Shaheen and Aamir Mughal instigated the workers but he can prove that Shoaib Shaheen was not there.


Shoaib Shaheen counsel contended that police have not recovered atom bomb from him police were interrogating which thing.


He requested ATC judges that instead of remand, Shoaib Shaheen must be released by the court. On this Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain said that Shoaib Shaheen is a respected man.


After hearing the arguments, ATC judge judicialized Shoaib Shaheen and gave 8 day physical remand of other PTI leaders to police.
