A notorious dacoit was killed in an encounter near Damwana Road area of police station A-Division in Sheikhupura on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Sheikhupura Bilal Zafar, the police were taking the accused Shabir in custody for recovery when four unknown suspects on motorcycles without number and armed with pistol stopped the police by firing in the air and snatched the dangerous accused in police custody and escaped, DPO said.
When the police party gave chase, the accused started firing indiscriminately while police party fired back for self defence.
The police cordoned off and searched the area, then the dangerous bandit Shabir was found dead by the firing of his own accomplices.
The deceased accused was booked in dozens of serious cases.
The accused involved in serious cases cannot escape from the grip of the law, DPO said.
