April 12, 2020 01:44 PM

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Sunday decided to cut the operational expenses amid the COVID-19 economic slowdown effects on the national carrier.

As per reports, the PIA has decided to send its employees on a 10-day paid leave (PL-Roster) from April 14.

According to the notification, the Chief Human Resource Officer has asked to make the roster of employees to send them on the 10-day paid leave.

“As you are well aware, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has had a drastic effect on our Airlines operations in general and flight operations specifically which has almost reduced to minimal/zero. Unfortunately, no one can predict how long this situation persists.”

“In order to curtail unnecessary cost due to no-utilization of manpower and to curb the associated overhead cost, it has been decided that all employees in all areas may be sent on PL on April 14…”
