The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s flagship programme, ‘Koye Bhooka Na Soye’, which the previous regime had launched to provide meal to the people in the backward areas of Punjab has reportedly come to a standstill.
The 24NewsHD reported that the programme, which was launched on April 11, 2021 on the direction of former prime minister Imran Khan, came to a standstill due to lack of funds and patronage.
The Department of Social Welfare and the Lahore Metropolitan Corporation have claimed to distribute meals worth Rs600 million under the programme.
Under ‘Koye Bhooka Na Soye’ programme, four mobile kitchen vans were activated in Lahore city which distributed various types of fresh meal to the helpless and deserving people and the labourers.
The mobile kitchen vans were also used to distribute meal to the backward communities.
Every day, four mobile kitchen vans would distribute meal to the needy in the city.
Lahore Commissioner Capt (retd) Usman had organised the launch of the programme.
